Lock Him Up!

Lots of politics as of late, but that's the way the world is going. Former leader of Taiwan, Chen Shuibian, was arrested the other day and its been determined he should remain in jail until he stands trial. While many mainland government leaders have been accused of corruption, its rarely as blatant and as costly as that of Chen and his family. For a "Taiwanese patriot", it's laughable how he plundered the wealth of the island for himself and his family. I tend not to care about Taiwan, I, like any Chinese, wants unification to happen, but its not an issue I obsess over and I could really care less about the island 99% of the time.

In any case, the site of Chen in handcuffs brings a bit of joy to me (and his son's story does too), lock him up and throw away the key.

Not too sure about that. More like everyone is doing it and it's difficult to crack down on when the rule of law is so weak

fair play, but I think (hope?) the problem in China is more at the lower and provincial levels than at the very top.
